[He sputters a bit around her hair but it finally seems to make it passed his face and tangle behind them as they move. Drunk ninjas traveling by rooftop isn't the smartest of moves, but Naruto only had those when he was being serious.

In other words, there's a lot of broken shingles he will have to fix later.

Yeah, he knows she can walk but this is a lot more fun. She's getting the same treatment as Sakura, only she's conscious and able to enjoy it.

He laughs out loud as they travel. He doesn't even know where she lives but he's headed towards the flower shop. He thinks.]

Yeah right! I saw you wobblin' all night! And you fell on the floor!

[For that moment, they laugh together and everything is easy. Simple. He looks down at her in his arms, blinking in confusion.]

Eh? Ask what? If you really thought I was cute?

[She snorts.]

Nice selective memory. You dropped me! Remember that? I hit my head and I probably have a concussion and maybe a blood clot, but no worries. If I don't wake up tomorrow, at least you'll have fond memories of all the drunk shenanigans tonight.

[Ino is kidding. Mostly. It's hard to blame Naruto when he was just being protective over Sakura. It's funny how Sakura doesn't think she's especially attractive but has guys like Naruto and Lee falling all over themselves for her.]

No, about if I had a boyfriend or not.

[He eyes her critically, knowing that he dropped her on that (fine, fine) ass and not her head. People don't get concussions from falling on their ass. Just bruises. She's messing with him again.

[Why did he ask? He looks ahead with a thoughtful expression, wondering himself. It's because she had been flirting with him, really. With his luck, it would be girls that already had boyfriends that showed the inkling of interest in him.

So he shrugs.]

[She did bump her head (clumsily) in her drunken state but not hard enough to probably do any damage. But yes, Ino is messing with him because it's fun. His reactions are truly the best.]

For a future Hokage, you're not very brave. Just admit you think I'm pretty and want to take me out.

[No shame in that; Ino is fairly sure that at least, what, 99% of the male population does?

She can almost hear Sakura screaming, "I DON'T APPROOOOOVE" in the back of her mind but oh well.]

But girls? Girls like Sakura and Ino and his mom. Nope. He's terrified, and within reason.

[Take her out? He doesn't even know how to do that. He's been vehemently denied by Sakura every time he's asked her out and she's the only person he's ever had interest in. It's only recently he's grown up a bit more and decided to try and move on. Of course, he'd always be there for Sakura and if she decided to give him a chance he would be over the moon about it.

But Ino is pretty and if she's offering...maybe he can try?

They land outside the flower shop anyway and Naruto sets her down on her feet before shuffling his, nervously and scratches his cheek and avoids her eyes and wonders if he will regret this later. Maybe not. Ino is pretty fun tonight and who's to say she isn't fun all the time like that? They could have a nice time and if things wouldn't work out they could still be friends.

Honestly, he's not expecting them to but she had been so...he didn't even know. He's still drunk.]

Ah-- um, well, y'know it's...

Do you want to? [He peeks at her a little with a nervous expression.]

[Ino is a little lovingly manipulative towards people she likes. When she wants something, she will go through any means to get it. Even if Naruto hadn't thought of actually asking her out on a date, she just made him think he did. You can take the girl out of Interrogation...

She gives him her cutest look. Her "I'm not really trying that hard but I'm just naturally adorable" look that she had honed over the years. ]

[Naruto is actually, and she never thought she would be thinking this, a catch. Ino has the advantage of knowing him when he was silly and last place in the class but then again, she always did have a fondness for losers. Look at her own team.]

[NOOOO NOT THE LOOK. It almost gets him to break but then again nothing can break Naruto. Not even Inos who are cute and may be batting her eyelashes at him. Jiraiya might have fallen for that stuff, but not him.]

[Meet Naruto: Older but still no mature than a twelve year old.]

[You'll break someday, Naruto. They all do.

Ino is slightly more intrigued that he is making her work for it. By now, usually guys were just falling at her feet trying to win her favor (at least in her opinion). She guesses there is a first time for everything.

She puts her arms around his shoulders (Not bad, Naruto, you've definitely grown up), still giving him that look.]

[It's enough to make him fumble a bit, staring down at her with widened, bright blue eyes.

That look. Geez, she knows what she's doing too, doesn't she? Still not breaking, though it makes him pause. Ino is really close. Like...really.]

Uh.

[He grins, lopsided and nervous, and his hands hover --unsure-- at her waist. Just the tips of his fingers brush the fabric of her top.]

[Her fingers brush the back of his neck lightly, her head tilting to the side ever so slightly. All her moves are practiced, though only a keen eye could tell.]

You can't just make a girl say things like that.

[Not that Ino ever feels embarrassed. That takes humility and shame, two things she lacks. It's really fun to play coy with Naruto, who is so endearingly awkward.]

[A weird tingle starts where she brushes and races down his spine, making him straighten a bit and his body to tense. He's awkward, alright.]

[Nononono not the hair. His fingers twitch at her sides before they clamp down on her waist and he swallows hard.]

[ His reaction is so obvious that Ino has to run her fingers through his hair more fully. ]

He shudders, almost violently. Who knew he was so sensitive there? And how did Ino find it out so quickly? Geez. His hands squeeze her sides a bit and he closes his eyes.]

Ino knows weaknesses. This was just dumb luck, though. Naruto is so puppyish, it seems appropriate.]

She let's go of his hair, touching his cheeks gently instead with a grin. ]

[He almost whines at her stopping but catches himself beforehand as she touches his whiskered cheeks. He's not used to things like this just yet but he only blushes a little now since over the course of the night, he was more prepared. And still drunk. There's that too.]

[Really, that only makes her want to do it more. As soon as someone tells Ino she can't do something, she is all over it.]

[Definitely weird. But he doesn't move away either.

When she mentions Sakura he goes quiet for a long time and then slowly pulls away, rubbing the back of his head and where she had been running her hands through his fluffy blond spikes.

Too bad Naruto doesn't get the strategy of playing hard to get. Poor thing. He's so jaded by past experiences with girls and he's awkward that he doesn't really understand. GO EASY ON THE POOR THING.]

[You'd think he'd be used to rejections (that's what he thinks it is) but it still hurts a little. It's even Ino too.]

[She is flabbergasted for a few moments, unsure of how they got from being warm and close to Naruto saying good night.

Is he trying to play the player? Or does he really just have no idea how flirting works? That kicked puppy look on his face says it all and damn it, she is so weak to that look. That was how Sakura had lured her in all those years ago and Naruto has mastered the same "I'm really adorable but no one likes me right now" look that she is such a sucker for.]

[She grabs him by the pockets of his jacket, dragging him back over to her. Ino kisses him before he can protest further.]

[He turns in surprise but not as much as the moment he feels her lips planted on his.

Naruto doesn't kiss back because he doesn't want to, oh no, he doesn't because his brain has decided to short-circuit somewhere between when she had grabbed him and the sensation of Ino's mouth on his. For as long as he doesn't respond, Naruto doesn't think. He just stares at her tightly closed eyes with his wide, wide blue ones.

Ino was kissing him.

Yamanaka Ino was kissing him.

Of her own volition. Drunk volition but still her own! What does he do? Kiss back? Gently lead her inside? Were they going to regret this later? Geez, it's just kissing! He can do kissing. He's done worse (or better?). Besides he had kissed her forehead earlier.

So, finally, he kisses back. It's soft and hesitant like he's not sure if this is right or wrong for a lot of reasons. His hands gently rest on the sides of her waist and squeeze softly, the tips of his fingers curling a bit into her lower back to push her closer.]

[It feels a little bit like that teenage "let's sneak out into the training fields when our senseis aren't watching" kissing (Not that Ino is used to that or anything, no, not at all) but it's pleasant. Warm. Soft. Ino has to deal with a lot of pushy men every day acting like she owed them something so this is a very nice change of pace.

If she was being honest, she would say she really likes being held like this, so carefully and somewhat clumsily. It's sweet and something Ino isn't used to. It's either awkward pre-sex groping or something gross and mission related. Her inebriated mind is making her mushy, she decides, putting her arms around his neck and stroking his hair again.

Ino smiles against his lips before she can help herself at the thought. A short kiss is pressed to the corner of his mouth before pulling away ever so slightly.]

Now what was that about you running home?

[The hair again. If she kept doing that it might be easy to try and fall in love again.

Naruto is grinning a bit stupidly as she pulls away, his hands not leaving her waist at all. He considers kissing her again because he certainly didn't get to respond as much as he'd like and if Ino was willing, he was willing to show her what he can do.]

Eheh, well...

[A hand rubs the back of his head sheepishly and whatever rejection he had felt earlier has all but disappeared.]
